Closure of Quay Theatre due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Hello all - we hope you are all keeping as safe as possible in these troubling times.
(CURRENT MANNED BOX OFFICE TIMES FOR TELEPHONE CALLS: MON - FRI 12PM - 4PM
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE THEATRE UNLESS IT IS AGREED WITH THE STAFF BEFOREHAND. ANSWERPHONE MESSAGES WILL BE RESPONDED TO)
Currently we have just one member of admin staff and the theatre in its entirety is closed to the public. We are asking for patience and so far people have been amazing and we thank you for that!
We are not CURRENTLY issuing refunds for tickets. This does not mean that that option will not become available for shows dating from 17th March, again, we just need some time to see where we stand.
Our priorities currently are:
Keeping our customers and, importantly, our ticketholders for shows up until the end of May informed as to our situation. All ticketholders for whom we hold an email address have been contacted for all of the shows. We are currently working our way through those ticket holders who do not have email contact, by telephone.
Contacting the acts that we had scheduled before the end of May and trying as best we can to secure rescheduled dates for later this year and 2021 so that we can offer these dates as a first option for current ticket holders and so that we can secure work for the touring acts. This will take some time so we are asking that our customers please be patient with us.
Both processes will be carried out in chronological order of the originally scheduled shows.
For screenings (ROH/NT Live) we will soon be asking that, WHERE POSSIBLE customers can use the opportunity to donate the ticket money to the theatre to help us stay afloat. The other option initially will be to exchange the money for a credit towards any future shows. We are currently working alongside our ticketing providers to enable a quick and easy way for customers to do this online from an email.
These are frightening times not only health-wise but also financially for many many businesses and individuals and we are no different. We are hoping that the offer of help from the government (due for accessing on Monday) will prove helpful in keeping us afloat as we do live or die by our sales; as a charity we do not hold surplus money. We will be in a much better position to enlighten customers as to their options following the success or failure of applications made for financial help.
We will continue to be as transparent as we can for all our acts and customers and we will also be asking for their help. The following link is for anyone wishing to make a donation.
Thank you all for your continued support. Stay safe. Stay entertained, and who knows - there may well be quite a few new plays written and songs recorded in bedrooms all over the land by the time this is over!
